Modern Slavery Act Transparency Statement
Promoting sound, Moral and Ethical Practices
Our Commitments
Wilson and Scott (W&S) are opposed to all forms of modern slavery and human trafficking and are committed to
taking all necessary steps to ensure the promotion of sound, moral, and ethical practices throughout the whole of
its business and wider supply chain. Modern slavery encompasses slavery, servitude, human trafficking and forced
labour.
W&S will demonstrate its commitment to this policy by,
➢ Developing, implementing, and communicating effective systems, policies, and procedures to ensure
modern slavery does not exist anywhere in its business or supply chain
➢ Providing training to all its people on the principles of the Modern Slavery Act 2015
➢ Ensuring all procurement strategies and procedures follow the modern slavery procurement guidance in
accordance with PPN 02/03
➢ That consideration to modern slavery is included in the risk identification strategies and review
➢ Ensuring fair treatment and respect at all stages of recruitment, employment and procurement of people
and services
➢ Maintaining a fair and respectful working environment for everyone, including our collaborative partners and
customers
➢ Complying with relevant statutory and regulatory requirements including our customer’s needs and expectations.
Our Approach
This policy addresses the issues of modern slavery and human trafficking. It is our intention to:
➢ Apply the principles of this policy to all our people, clients, suppliers, agency workers, sub-contractors, and
customers
➢ To provide equal opportunities for all and always apply fairness where equality can be demonstrated
➢ To continually improve our work environment to ensure modern slavery and human trafficking is not present
within the business and its supply chain partners.
Training and Information
All our people have a legal obligation to comply with their statutory duties and to use the established management
systems, procedures, practices, and training that are provided for themselves and the benefit of everyone we work with.
W&S ensure the established systems, procedures, practices, and training comply with statutory and contractual
requirements. All operational activities will be managed and always resourced to reflect this commitment.
All W&S people will be given appropriate information, instruction, and training to have the right behaviours to
encourage an inclusive culture. Anyone involved with the recruitment, selection, promotion, or training of our people
may be provided with additional training where necessary. We will appoint, train, develop and promote our people
based on merit and ability. We will always ensure data and information security integrity is maintained.
Communication, Feedback and Improvement
W&S’s communications, including imagery and graphics, will reflect and reinforce our approach to modern slavery
and human trafficking. We will continually improve our business management systems and monitor performance
to prevent an act of unlawful slavery or human trafficking. We will learn from our collaborative partners, customers,
and people to continue to improve our inclusive culture, achieve our goals, and ensure the right behaviours within
our people.
Resources and facilities will be provided and maintained for all our people, their representatives, and other
interested parties to raise issues and receive feedback.
This policy and our performance will be reviewed at least annually with objectives and targets set and agreed with
Top Management. We will make this policy available to our people, customers, and other interested parties.
