Our Commitments
Wilson and Scott (Highways) Ltd (herein known as “W&S”) is committed to reducing the environmental, social, and
economic impacts of our operational activities by preventing pollution and enhancing our environment, social, and
economic interactions through adopting best practice, innovation, expertise, socially responsible behaviour, and
continually improving our policies, procedures and people within our organisation. We are also committed to working
towards and supporting the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development as well as Net Zero in
Highways.
W&S will:
➢ Apply this to our environmental, social, and economic interactions
➢ Adopt and deliver sustainable, low-impact operational solutions
➢ Comply with relevant statutory and regulatory requirements including our customer’s needs and
expectations
➢ Achieve positive environmental outcomes to protect the environment, prevent pollution, reduce our carbon
footprint, minimise waste and maximise the efficient use of resources, supported by our PAS 2080
verification
➢ Create SMART objectives to support environmental performance and continual improvement of the IBMS
➢ Ensure Wilson & Scott is a healthy, safe and enjoyable place to work
➢ Support our local community initiatives, support charitable projects, and offer work experience placements
Our Approach
This policy is implemented through the Integrated Business Management System (IBMS) and all associated
processes including the business strategy and objectives.
It is our intention to:
➢ Apply the principles of this policy to all our people, clients, suppliers, agency workers, sub-contractors and
customers
➢ Be trustworthy, reliable, respectful, fair and considerate in all that we do
➢ To promote sustainable goals through proactive behaviours which are embedded into our culture
➢ To continually improve our work environment to ensure sustainability is promoted in all that we do
➢ Enhance the communities we work in and the wider environment
Communication, Feedback and Improvement
W&S’s communications, including imagery and graphics, will reflect and reinforce our approach to sustainability
and the environment. We will continually improve our integrated business management systems and monitor
performance against our objectives. We will learn from our collaborative partners, customers, and people to
continue to improve our services and achieve our goals and the vision of a more sustainable future for everyone.
Resources and facilities will be provided and maintained for all our people, their representatives, and other
interested parties to raise issues and receive feedback.
This policy and our performance will be reviewed at least annually with objectives and targets set and agreed with
Top Management. We will make this policy available to our people, customers, and other interested parties
